GoodWeave Seal

Rugs bearing the Goodweave seal are a symbol of fair production without the use of child labor in South Asia, as well as the provision of social and educational programs in the countries where they are manufactured. Compliance with Goodweave guidelines is regularly verified by independent inspectors. Since 1995, the seal has stood for strict social and environmental standards. Rugs bearing the Goodweave seal adhere to the following principles: a ban on child labor, fair and adequate wages, hygienic working conditions, and high minimum environmental and social standards.

PETA

The organization PETA has become well-known for its provocative advertising posters, celebrity endorsements, and various public campaigns. “PETA-Approved Vegan” signifies that a carpet is manufactured entirely without animal-derived ingredients. PETA carpets are made solely from natural fibers (link to previous post) and use only natural dyes and ingredients. The PETA seal conveys a strong ethical message and has enjoyed growing significance and popularity since its inception in 1993.

For the collections at outlet-teppiche.de, we look for recognized quality and certification seals for both manufacturing and materials. If you’re also passionate about this topic, search our store specifically for rugs with special quality seals.

Wools of New Zealand

The internationally recognized Wools of New Zealand seal guarantees that carpets contain 80 percent wool by total weight, of which at least 60 percent is New Zealand virgin wool. The seal is a mark of quality for high-quality rugs. Wools of New Zealand rugs feature particularly strong wool fibers, are durable, and retain their color. And that’s not all: The seal also certifies which farm in New Zealand the wool for each individual rug comes from.
